Gothic (Sans-serif)
Gothic fonts with their clean, modern feel are the most widely used font style. With consistent stroke width and no decorations, they offer excellent readability and are used across various digital environments including websites, apps, and presentations. Pretendard and Noto Sans Korean are representative gothic fonts.
Myeongjo (Serif)
Myeongjo fonts with their traditional, formal feel are characterized by small decorations (serifs) at the ends of strokes. Widely used in print materials, books, and official documents, they reduce eye strain when reading long texts. Nanum Myeongjo and KoPub Batang are examples.
Handwriting
Handwriting fonts that give a friendly, warm feeling are characterized by their natural, hand-written appearance. Suitable for cards, invitations, and emotional content, they're also used for distinctive branding. Various styles exist including Nanum Handwriting and Kyobo Handwriting.
Decorative (Display)
Unique and distinctive decorative fonts are used where attention needs to be caught, such as logos, titles, and posters. While not suitable for body text, they're effective for creating special atmospheres. Baemin Jua and Yanolja Ya are representative examples.
