Sharing the Beauty of
Hangul
HangulHub is a platform designed to help foreigners experience Hangul and Korean culture in an easy and enjoyable way.
Our Mission
K-POP, K-Drama, K-Beauty... Korean culture has become part of everyday life for people around the world. Yet, not many foreigners can actually read and write "Hangul," the Korean alphabet.
HangulHub was created to bridge this gap. We don't just teach Hangul—we help you experience its beauty and scientific design in a sophisticated way.
"You can read Hangul in just one day" is not an exaggeration. You only need to learn 14 consonants and 10 vowels.
What is Hangul?
One of the most scientific and beautiful writing systems in the world
History
Hangul was created in 1443 by King Sejong the Great, the 4th king of the Joseon Dynasty. It was originally called "Hunminjeongeum," meaning "The Correct Sounds for the Instruction of the People."
King Sejong wanted to create a writing system that anyone could easily learn, especially for commoners who couldn't read Classical Chinese. The result was Hangul—a remarkable script that is easy to learn yet capable of expressing virtually any sound.
Scientific Design
Hangul consonants were designed based on the shape of speech organs (tongue, lips, throat) when pronouncing them. For example, "ㄱ" represents the tongue blocking the throat, and "ㄴ" represents the tongue touching the upper gum.
Vowels are composed of basic elements symbolizing heaven (ㆍ), earth (ㅡ), and human (ㅣ). This systematic design has been recognized by UNESCO, with the Hunminjeongeum Haerye (explanatory text) registered as a Memory of the World.
Behind HangulHub
HangulHub Team
A solo project by a Hangul enthusiast
Hi there. I'm the creator of HangulHub. I have a day job and work on this site in my spare time after work.
I truly believe Hangul is an amazing writing system. It's easy to learn, comfortable to write, and above all, beautiful. I'm not dismissing other scripts—I just feel Hangul has its own unique charm.
I think there aren't many examples of Hangul being used in beautiful and stylish ways yet. It's not a lack of potential—just a lack of attention. That's why I started this project.
With K-pop, K-drama, and K-beauty capturing global attention, now is the perfect time to share the beauty of Hangul with the world.
