Hi, I am the developer behind HangulHub.
It felt a pity to let Hangul Day pass quietly, so I put together a small event. Look for the treasures hidden around the site, try the special quiz, and stamp your own Korean name as a seal. Nothing grand, but I hope you enjoy it.

Hangul Treasure Hunt
In search of Hangul’s lost letters
Hangul began with twenty-eight letters; today it uses twenty-four. Four lost letters (ㆍ ㅿ ㆁ ㆆ), the four syllables of its original name, Hun·min·jeong·eum, and a letter from King Sejong — nine Hangul treasures are hidden inside gourds around the site. Split a gourd open to learn what you found.

Find and split the gourds
Nine gourds hang somewhere around the site. Find them and tap to split them open.

Collect all nine
You earn a limited badge and an entry into the prize draw.
No login needed to find them. If you log in on the same day, your finds move to your account and become your collection. The 2026 collectibles can only be earned on this day, and once earned they stay in your account for good.

The treasure hunt runs for one day, Oct 9, from 00:00 to 23:59 on the HangulHub clock (Korea time). The special quiz opens Oct 7, 00:00 KST and stays open afterward.
One account per person
Please take part with just one account per person.
Unfair play
If we find participation by improper means, such as automated programs or multiple accounts, those records are voided, and a win may be cancelled even after the draw.
Personal information
Taking part does not require any extra personal information. Only from winners do we ask, with separate consent, for what is needed to send a prize, and we delete it once it has been sent.
Changes
Depending on how things go on our side, the event may change or end early. If it does, we will say so on this page.
